My name is Kristina Chesler and I make macrame under the name Summer Sky Designs. I was born and raised in California but my family and I lived in Southern Oregon for the past 7 years, and we just returned to Ca last summer. I started making macrame during the Covid pandemic while I was working remotely and had 3 kids at home online schooling. I needed a creative outlet and my hobby soon turned into a small business making connections with local retail stores, repeat customers, Etsy, and markets.  While I make functional macrame pieces such as plant hangers, I truly enjoy creating one of a kind macraweave and landscape macrame wall hangings. I love bringing outdoor elements inside. There’s a quote by Edgar Degas that says, "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see”. It brings me joy when people feel connected to my macrame and choose my pieces to display in their home.
