Eco-printing is a technique where plants, leaves and flowers leave their shapes, color, and marks on fabric. Plant material bundled inside of cloth is steamed or boiled to release the dye found naturally inside the plant, creating a contact print in the shape of the leaf or flower used.  The results are exceptional and unpredictable which make them an exciting and unique art form!

This table runner is created in many steps, using fresh leaves. Each one is unique and takes several days to dye the fabric before starting to quilt.

This table runner has a white background and eco-printed with eucalyptus, maple, walnut, and sumac collected in Northern California. Fabric is 100% cotton. This table runner free hand quilted. Table runner is backed in natural gold and trimmed in natural color. Measures 18 inches x 70 inches.
